  • AirportNEXT Overall Award – Tier 4 Airports (More than 16 million passengers)
  • Infrastructure and Facilities – Security
  • Stakeholder Alignment – Government

Airports Council International—North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada, announced the launch of the AirportNEXT program and the winners of the first annual AirportNEXT awards in September at the 2024 ACI-NA Annual Conference and Exhibition in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The awards celebrate the achievements of airports that have excelled in operations and stakeholder alignment, highlighting their commitment to excellence and innovation in the aviation industry.

“As an airport, we strive to build a sustainable system incorporating the best infrastructure, processes, and people. Combining those elements and partnering with our community efficiently allows us to serve almost 18 million passengers annually,” said Airport Director Patrick Carreno.

AirportNEXT, an initiative spearheaded by AirportNEXT Solutions Inc., was introduced in a pilot project across the United States and Canada this spring. During the past six months, 24 airports across the US and Canada participated in a pilot project to create the initial database of stakeholder sentiment about airports. The program aims to validate and expand the existing database of stakeholder sentiments regarding airport operations and effectiveness.

Through in-person and digital outreach to its stakeholders, including airport, industry, and community groups, DAL achieved significant participation, leading to informative results. It has since intended to use this database to improve and build on its existing successes.
