Dallas Love Field was named “Best Innovation in Airport Passenger Related Processes” for its 3D LED Holographic Signage Fan Displays by Airports Council International (ACI) World and Amadeus at the 2024 Technology Innovation Awards in Rome, Italy. 3D holographic signs

The displays, mounted overhead in strategic terminal locations, work by rapidly spinning LED-embedded blades, which emit light in a precise, programmed manner to create the illusion of a three-dimensional image floating in mid-air. They project recognizable icons, including "Uber" and "Lyft" logos, taxis, people-moving systems, and directional arrows in a bright, colorful, and highly visible fashion, drawing immediate attention and providing clear, intuitive guidance to the airport’s transportation network center pick-up area.

Per ACI World, this year’s award submissions featured the largest pool of candidates yet, with airports of all sizes from around the world showcasing their innovations, and this was the airport’s first win at the event. Additional award categories include Best Innovation in Airport Operations and Installations Management, Best Airport Innovation Leader, and Best Small and Emerging Airport Innovation. DAL also recently won the Customer Experience Technology Innovation category for the 3D LED Holographic Displays at the 2024 Marketing, Communications, and Customer Experience Conference in San Francisco, CA, hosted by Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA).
