For the second consecutive year, passengers have declared Dallas Love Field (DAL) the best medium hub airport in North America.
The 2024 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for Best Airport of 15 to 25 Million Passengers in North America was recently announced by the Airports Council International (ACI) World.
The prestigious award, touted as the gold standard for airport performance metrics, is awarded based on the findings of a rigorous yearlong survey evaluating customer service and passenger experience.
“We saw a record-breaking almost 18 million travelers in 2024, and this award stands as a testament to the hard work of the DAL team in ensuring we provide world-class service to every passenger, 365 days a year,” City of Dallas Aviation Director Patrick Carreno boasted. “We are honored to receive this award for the second consecutive year.”
Recent upgrades and additions have also contributed to the airport’s increased favorability among passengers.
Lil’ Love Lounge
After weeks under renovation, the Lil’ Love Lounge game room, reopened in April 2024. The Dallas Mavericks-themed space in the departure lounge, sponsored by the Dallas Mavericks and UT Southwestern Medical Center, features activities for all ages, including sensory toys tailored to children with disabilities.
Sensory Room
Away from the hustle and bustle of a busy airport, the sensory room, introduced in summer 2024, provides a calming space for individuals with sensory sensitivities, much like the Lil’ Love Lounge. The pre-security experience features lighting and sound effects, interactive tactile experiences, and cause-and-effect items.
Charging Stations
Two charging stations for electronic devices, placed in the food and retail court in late 2024, have become a popular amenity among travelers, logging about 10,000 uses within months. The kiosks, powered by energy created from jet exhaust during takeoff, are a first in the world, situating Dallas Love Field as a leader in the renewable energy market. Jetwind Power Corporation, the mastermind behind the never-before-seen technology, plans to add four more charging stations throughout the airport.
The award will be presented at the ASQ Awards Ceremony in Guangzhou, China, on September 10.
