Improving the quality of life for those who live and work around the airport

Updated Midway Manor Park (2 of 23) (2)

The Lemmon Avenue Streetscape project is a source of pride for the City of Dallas, Dallas Love Field (DAL), and community stakeholders. It includes various quality-of-life improvements on Lemmon Avenue in the vicinity of DAL: sidewalks, bicycle paths, landscaping, gateway features, lighting, intersection safety improvements, traffic signals, wayfinding signage, and neighborhood pocket parks. Additionally, with sustainability being a key component of the project, over 200 trees were planted.

These upgrades serve as critical "active living" infrastructure that promotes health by increasing physical activity, enhancing mental well-being, and strengthening community social ties.

This multi-million-dollar undertaking, lasting nearly six years, is part of the City of Dallas' Complete Streets and Vision Zero action plans to enhance public safety.

Aircraft Observation Area

One of the project's most highly anticipated features is the Aircraft Observation Area at George Coker Circle, providing close-up views of the airfield. As the busiest medium-hub airport in North America, spectators are able to see up to 650 airplanes takeoff and land daily.
