Changes in travel demand forecasts, regulatory requirements, resource availability, and emerging aircraft and building performance technologies that inform the future development of the aviation sector. We frequently evaluate whether current facilities can meet future demand and plan accordingly to incorporate sustainability and resilience in all future developments. Each new project is an opportunity to reduce long-term impacts, support operational efficiency, and protect the health of our airport system, community, and environment.
The Love Field Expansion Airport Program (LEAP) details a significant expansion and upgrade through 2045. It involves replacing Parking Garage A with a new headhouse for ticketing, baggage, and security, widening the concourse, adding Garage D for parking, and establishing a consolidated rental car facility. The plan also includes integrating modern technology to boost capacity and efficiency. Construction might start around 2027 as part of a multi-billion-dollar renovation.
Approximately 40 Sustainability Master Plan action items were incorporated into the upcoming airport renovations.

Sustainability In Action
To build a resource-efficient future that supports long-term operational performance, we regularly evaluate whether the current facilities can meet future demands and plan accordingly, incorporating sustainability and resilience considerations in all future developments.
In alignment with the City of Dallas' Green Building Standard, every new building and major renovation meets the internationally recognized United States Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) or equivalent standards. Additionally, all future development will incorporate the City's Comprehensive Environmental & Climate Action Plan (CECAP), focusing on net-zero energy construction and sustainable infrastructure by 2030, as well as ParkSmart, a certification system designed to advance sustainable mobility through smarter parking structure design and operation.
